Accused of extorting Rs 5 million from trader arrested, arms recovered
KARACHI: Special Investigation Police (SIP) arrested three accused who demanded extortion of Rs 5 million from a businessman and recovered weapons. In Liaqatabad area, three accused had demanded extortion of Rs 5 million from a trader and threatened to kill him if he did not pay. Police registered a case against the unidentified accused under the Terrorism Act and handed over the case to the Special Investigation Police.
Police, after identifying them with the help of CCTV footage, raided their hideouts and arrested three accused Suleiman alias Makhan, Wasim and Naveed and recovered 3 TT pistols. According to police, 10 suspects were arrested in different police stations. More than cases have been registered and are being further investigated.
