The houses of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were taken over by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken possession of the houses of Bollywood legends Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor in Peshawar. According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, Director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archeology Department Abdul Samad Khan said that the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar told him that the property is now being handed over to the Archaeological Department. It has been seized and sealed and the houses will now be restored to their original condition.

He added that work would now begin on it and that the first step would be to rehabilitate it. It should be noted that the government of Pakistan has taken the houses of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor into government custody and has planned to set up a museum here. In this regard, these houses have been purchased from those who were in their custody, and officially the price of Raj Kapoor’s house has been paid as Rs. 155 lakhs and the price of Dilip Kumar’s house has been paid as Rs. 88 lakhs.

Where is Dilip Kumar’s house? The government had taken practical steps to buy the houses of Kapoor Haveli and Dilip Kumar and set up a museum here, but at that time the houses were owned by locals.

Dilip Kumar’s house is located in Mohalla Khudadad in Qissa Khawani Bazaar and its total area is said to be four marlas. The construction area is just over 1,077 square feet. During his visit to Pakistan, Dilip Kumar spoke to people in the Hindko language of Peshawar and reminisced about his childhood. He also visited Qila Bala Hissar and Landi Kotal in Khyber District.
